Ash Ketchum
Ash Ketchum is the main character of the entire anime series. He starts his journey in Pallet Town at the age of 10. He was given a Pikachu from Professor Oak after he was late to get his first Pokemon. Ash and Pikachu have gone on to form an incredible bond and are definitely the best of friends. His team has included Pikachu, Charizard, Sceptile, Greninja, and many more.
Ash is someone who is very selfless and also someone who is very determined to achieve his goal of being the best trainer in the world. When you think of the best Pokemon trainers in the world, Ash probably has to be on that list.
Misty
Misty is a water-type trainer that Ash meets early on in his journey. She has served as the leader of the Cerulean City Gym and she is also one of Ash’s former traveling companions. Her top Pokemon include Starmie, Corsola, and Gyarados. Misty is someone who is feisty but also very sweet. If there is a list of the best female Pokemon trainers, Misty would probably be on that list.
Brock
Brock is a rock-type trainer that Ash meets early on in his journey. He has served as the leader of the Pewter Gym and he is also one of Ash’s former traveling companions. Some of his top Pokemon include Onix, Crobat, Sudowoodo, and Geodude. Brock is someone who is very mature, wise, caring, and he also puts others before himself. He also is someone who falls in love easily and quite often, as was demonstrated throughout the series.
Tracey
Tracey was first seen in the series during episode 84, which is called The Lost Lapras. He is a former traveling companion of Ash and he now works as Professor Oak’s assistant at his lab. His team includes Venonat, Marill, and Scyther. Tracey is someone who is very artistic and gentle.
May
May was first seen during episode 275, which is called Get the Show on the Road!. She is a former traveling companion of Ash and she is also someone who loves Pokemon contests. Her team includes Blaziken, Beautifly, Venusaur, and Glaceon. May is someone who is sweet optimistic, and feminine.
Max
Max was first seen during episode 277, which is called There’s No Place Like Hoenn. He is a former traveling companion of Ash and he is also an aspiring trainer. He did not catch any Pokemon of his own but was able to befriend many during his travels. Max is someone who is smart and also very open to learning new things.
Dawn
Dawn was first seen during episode 467, which is called Following A Maiden’s Voyage!. She is a former traveling companion and she is also the daughter of Johanna, who is considered a top Pokemon coordinator. Dawn’s team includes Piplup, Buneary, Quilava, and Togekiss. Dawn is someone who is very confident and determined.
Iris
Iris was first seen during episode 658, which is called In the Shadow of Zekrom!. She is a former traveling companion of Ash and also someone who aspires to be a dragon master. Her team includes Axew, Dragonite, and Gible. Iris is someone who is very adventurous and bold.
Cilan
Cilan was first seen during episode 662, which is called Triple Leaders, Team Threats!. He is a former traveling companion of Ash and also a Pokemon Connoisseur. His team includes Crustle, Pansage, and Stunfisk. Cilan is someone who is patient and caring.
Clemont
Clemont was first seen during episode 800, which was titled Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!. He is a former traveling companion of Ash and he is also the leader of the Lumiose City Gym. His team includes Chespin, Luxray, and Bunnelby. Clemont is someone who is very intelligent but also modest.
Bonnie
Bonnie was first seen during episode 800, which was titled Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!. She is a former traveling companion of Ash and she is also the little sister of Clemont. Her only Pokemon as of right now is a Dedenne. Bonnie is someone who is very cheerful.
Serena
Serena was first seen during episode 800, which was titled Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!. She is a former traveling companion of Ash and she is also a Pokemon performer. Her team includes Braixen, Pancham, and Sylveon. Serena is someone who is kind and polite but also very rebellious.
Goh
Goh was first seen during episode 1086, which is called Enter Pikachu!. He is one of Ash’s traveling companions and he also has the goal of one day catching a Mew. His team includes Raboot, Sobble, and Scyther. Goh is someone who is very determined and someone who wants to be the very best.
